APA Referencing, How-to-Guide

Illustrations.

If you’re describing a work of art/ photo etc, then use the following:

 

Format:

Author’s Surname, Initials. (Year). [Description of photo/ artwork]. Site name. URL

Example:

Rinaldi, J. (2016). [Photograph series of a boy who finds his footing after abuse by those he trusted].

The Pulitzer Prizes. https://www.pulitzer.org/winners/jessica-rinaldi

 

If the work has a name, then use the following:

 

Format:

Author’s Surname, Initials]. (Year). Title of artwork/ illustration [Format]. Site name. URL

Example:

McCurry, S. (1985). Afghan girl [Photograph]. National Geographic. https://www.nationalgeographic.com/magazine/
