How can I renew my items?

Items are renewed automatically, as long as other borrowers haven't reserved them by placing a hold.

If an item can’t be renewed you’ll need to return it to us by the due date – we’ll send you a message to let you know, but please also keep an eye on your library account.- it's your responsibility to return items on time when needed.

We do charge fines for reserved items which are returned late to encourage sharing of items round everyone who wants to use them.

Borrowing Items at Havering

How do I borrow items?

We’ve got over 200,000 books and DVDs across our libraries. You can borrow items using your LSBU ID card at the self-issue machine in Havering.

If you forget to bring your ID, then you can still borrow at the help desk using photo ID such as a driving license. This is limited to three times in each academic year.

If you have lost your student ID you can order a new one online and pay the £5 replacement fee. Once completed you can go Reception where a member of staff from the Student Admin Department will be able to print a new one.

Please let the Library know so we can block your old card.
