Health & Safety: First Aid

First Aid

If you need a first aider call x6666

If you need to call an ambulance please do so via 6666 as this makes Security Control aware and able to assist (eg in directing ambulance to correct location in the University)

First Aid Boxes are here:

Perry Library:

1 East in Collections team Office just inside office on top of grey filing cabinet (green box)

Tea room on 4 Bridge (orange box)

Reception also hold a first aid box at the entrance reception desk

Havering Library:

One in library and one at campus reception

Strictly speaking – items from the boxes should be given out by first aiders though there aren’t dangerous items in the boxes - contents consist of items like plasters, dressing and bandages, burns dressings, eye wash, disposable gloves, and an instant ice pack

If you do use items from the boxes do please let Health/Safety Coordinator know so these can be replaced as necessary

There is a defibrillator at the main reception desk at both PL and Havering. Security staff have been trained in it's use but it can be used by anyone in an emergency. It gives audio instruction on use and will only operate when being used correctly so won't cause any harm
