Bomb/Terrorist Evacuation

If you suspect a bomb or terrorist threat call x 6666

In the instance of a suspect package or suspicion of a bomb threat mobile phones should not be used around the device.

Security will advise what to do – it may be a normal evacuation or they may carry out a “soft” evacuation, without alarms led by Security or the Police.

In a terrorist emergency you should

Run - get as far away from incident as possible and keep going till out of danger. In addition to the 4 main staircase exits to the Library there are also exits via the basement (ramp from east side, and staircase beside Library basement store, both of which lead to Ontario Street)

Hide - if not possible to leave building then hide/lock doors to room you are in/make no noise/ turn phone to silent

Tell - only when safe to do so phone police on 999
