Accessing LinkedIn Learning as a LSBU Student

To be able to access all of the learning materials on LinkedIn Learning free of charge as a LSBU student you will need to log in to the site via the organization route.  The steps for this are:

1.  Search for LinkedIn Learning which will take you to this page:

2.  Click on the Sign in with your organization account link as highlighted in the image on the right

3.  As shown in the image below, enter your username with at the end.

4. You will then be requested to enter your username and password, after which - on the first time accessing the site - you will be asked some basic setting up questions.

5.  Once you have completed these questions you will now have access to all of the material
on LinkedIn Learning.


LinkedIn Learning

All staff and students at London South Bank University have access to LinkedIn Learning, an online resource of training videos and tutorials for personal and professional development.

There is something for everyone. Whether you're looking for a complete training course or a quick answer on how to do something (for example, in Excel or on Twitter), there are over 4000 courses and over 150,000 tutorials with new releases every week.

As LinkedIn Learning is an online resource, it can be used via almost any device with internet access. Videos can also be downloaded for viewing offline at your convenience.

Why use LinkedIn Learning?

  • Thousands of courses and video tutorials available
  • Hundreds of different topics to choose from
  • You can search for videos, create your own useful playlists and keep track of your viewing history
  • LinkedIn Learning allows you to learn at your own pace – anytime, anywhere.


You may be directed to videos and tutorials as part of your coursework. However, you can independently make use of LinkedIn Learning to further help you with your studies or develop additional skills to boost your CV.

You can provide tutorials to support your own courses and incorporate your own customised LinkedIn Learning  materials within your Module sites on Moodle.

How to get started

On a PC, Laptop or Mac

To use LinkedIn Learning on a PC, Laptop or Mac, follow these steps:

Therefore, please activate your accounts by clicking on the following link:

If you are logged on to your PC using your LSBU account, you will be taken directly to a Welcome page.

If not, you will be asked to enter your LSBU User name and Password first.

The Welcome page will ask you to select one of the following options:

  1. Connect my LinkedIn account
  2. Continue without LinkedIn

It is entirely your decision as to which you choose (Obviously, if you don’t have a LinkedIn account then you need to choose the second option).

There are a number of advantages to linking your ‘LinkedIn Learning’ to your ‘LinkedIn’, such as getting recommendations for learning pathways based on your LinkedIn profile and automatically adding course completions and new skills to your LinkedIn profile.

However, this is optional and you can always link at a later date if you wish.

Once you have logged in, it may useful to watch How to use LinkedIn Learning to familiarise yourself with the new  LinkedIn Learning interface and the new features available.

On a tablet or smartphone

To use LinkedIn Learning on a tablet or smartphone, first download the free Linked Learning App from the appropriate store (IOS, Android or Windows Phone).

Then follow these steps:

  1. On the Sign In / Log In page, make sure you select the Organisation’ tab.
  2. Don’t log in straightaway but instead enter in the Web Portal or where it says ‘enter your organization's URL to log in through their portal:’
  3. This will lead you to the LSBU login page, where you then need to enter your LSBU Username and Password.
