Perry Library: Visiting the Library

Important Information about visiting the Perry Library

Perry Library and Havering Campus Libraries are open

Library opening hours

Visiting Havering Campus Library

At present due to the COVID-19 situation we still have social distancing in place. This is reducing the capacity of the library so please only visit us if you really need to use our study spaces, equipment or resources for your course

We strongly recommend you also take advantage of the quick COVID tests, which are available at our test centre on Rotary Street on Southwark Campus. These tests can be booked online.

Changes to the library services

There are currently changes to how you access study spaces and increased safety measures in the building. Please pay attention to the following information.

  • You must wear a face covering to come into the Library unless exempt due to disability/health or other reasons
  • All floors and large study rooms are open with the exception of the Group Rooms and pods

  • All floors will be reduced in capacity for social distancing purposes

  • Staff on-site will be monitoring building occupancy and we will be operating a one in one out policy if the library is full

  • Book and DVD shelves - you can browse, use items, and borrow items as normal

  • If you use books for study in the building but don't borrow them you are asked to place them on our quarantine book trolleys. Staff will remove these from the floor for cleaning before they are returned to the  shelves.

  • To return items, please use our book returns slot outside the main entrance to the library

  • Laptops are currently unavailable.

  • Enquiry services are still online and by phone. Our help desk on 1 East of the Perry Library is currently open for a reduced service - Opening Times.

All of these changes will be subject to continued monitoring.
