Service Status: Updates

AppsAnywhere and Windows 11

The current AppsAnywhere version is not supported on Windows 11. Students who require access to AppsAnywhere should not upgrade their personal computers until this is resolved.

IT Services will be upgrading the AppsAnywhere service on Wednesday 1st December 2021.

AppsAnywhere on Wi-Fi

Currently, there is an issue with some students accessing Apps Anywhere, using their laptop or our self-service laptops either on or off-campus via a Wi-fi connection.

Usually, when connecting to Apps Anywhere it would show you the location at the bottom of the page as United Kingdom (On-Site).

However, the location is currently displaying as Unknown (Off-Site) which means some apps are not available for the user to access:

This issue has been raised with IT Services who are investigating the problem.

Please be aware that the PCs in the library have AppsAnywhere and students and staff can access software from 9am on Sundays until 12 midnight on Fridays and 9am until 9pm.

Eduroam on Apple Devices

Some students and staff member with Apple devices (Apple Mac or iPhone) are unable to access the eduroam Wi-Fi on campus. If you have used eduroam at another University or College, this may be the cause.
