If you would like any assistance with equipment or software in our Assistive Technology Rooms (ATR) please ask at our help desks on 1 East or 1 West.

We also offer one-to-one introductory training sessions for the software in the ATR. Enquire at our help desks and someone will contact your to arrange a convenient time.

Apps Anywhere Software

AppsAnywhere is an ‘app store’ for accessing software on University computers.

The majority of applications on AppsAnywhere are available on any PC, anywhere on campus.

Simply click on the desktop AppsAnywhere icon and find the software that you want to use. Hover over the icon, then click Launch. The Cloudpaging Player will open, when the software shows as Ready, click Launch.

Dragon Software

Dragon is voice recognition software. You speak to the computer and it follows your commands allowing you to navigate the screen without the use of a mouse. Dragon can be used by anyone who would prefer to say their ideas as opposed to type them.

Available in all of our Assistive Technology Rooms in the Perry Library.

Screen-reading and magnification program for blind or partially sighted users.

Available in Assistive Technology Room 1 on level 3 East of the Perry Library.

ClaroRead Plus icon

ClaroRead Plus

Literacy support software that can help with proofing, understanding and checking text onscreen. You can read any on-screen text out loud and enables scanned paper books and documents to be read aloud.

Available on all PCs across campus.

MindManager icon


Mind mapping package with many uses; planning assignments and projects, exam preparation, collaborative working.
Also available to download and use on your own PC or laptop. Click on image.
