Apps Anywhere from Home

AppsAnywhere is now available off campus!

This is an ‘app store’ for accessing  many of the software programs that are available on campus...but from home!

From your web browser go to the Apps Anywhere website:

If you are visiting the page for the first time you will need to install the Apps Anywhere client on your computer in order to use the service. For full instructions please see our help sheet below.

Some software may require a connection to the Global Protect VPN. This will be highlighted on the AppsAnywhere site and in the software list below.

Please note: AppsAnywhere is only available for Windows PCs and laptops.

Microsoft Teams

Microsoft Teams is a chat-based collaboration platform complete with document sharing, online meetings, and many more extremely useful features for communications.

Being safe in MS Teams

Before you use MS Teams, you need to be aware of your responsibilities for keeping LSBU secure, looking after your data and ensuring that you are you safe. Always be wary of who you choose to share data with, especially using a collaborative tool which makes it easier for team and cross-team working.

Think - is your document confidential or in other ways sensitive? Is it safe to be shared in a Team or in a post?

Download MS Teams on your desktop/laptop computer

Download Microsoft Teams

  1. Choose to download Desktop or Mobile
  2. Download and install
  3. Sign in with your LSBU email address and password

Access MS Teams web version - has less features than Desktop version

  1. Go to:   
  2. When prompted, please enter your LSBU email address and LSBU password
  3. Click on the icon for MS Teams

Microsoft OneDrive

Microsoft OneDrive Storage

OneDrive is a web-based file storage system that provides 1 TB (Terabyte) of online storage space and is part of Microsoft Office 365.

Additional Software

Downloading  Adobe Creative Cloud, Microsoft Visio or Microsoft Project software on your own device

If you need one of these software programs for your course, you will need to be given permission to download it by your lecturer.

If permission has been granted, you will receive an email from Student IT Support with a link to the software and instructions on how to download it.


Please note: this may take up to 3 days following the request from your lecturer. If you have been waiting longer than this, please check with your lecturer to ensure that they have made the request before contacting us.
