AppsAnywhere is available off campus
This is an ‘app store’ for accessing many of the software programs that are available on campus...but from home!
From your web browser go to the Apps Anywhere website: appsanywhere.lsbu.ac.uk
If you are visiting the page for the first time you will need to install the Apps Anywhere client on your computer in order to use the service. For full instructions please see our help sheet below.
All software requires a connection to the Global Protect VPN. This is highlighted on the AppsAnywhere site.
Please note: AppsAnywhere is only available for Windows PCs and laptops.
Microsoft Teams is a chat-based collaboration platform complete with document sharing, online meetings, and many more extremely useful features for communications.
Being safe in MS Teams
Before you use MS Teams, you need to be aware of your responsibilities for keeping LSBU secure, looking after your data and ensuring that you are you safe. Always be wary of who you choose to share data with, especially using a collaborative tool which makes it easier for team and cross-team working.
Think - is your document confidential or in other ways sensitive? Is it safe to be shared in a Team or in a post?

Download MS Teams on your desktop/laptop computer

Access MS Teams web version - has less features than Desktop version
Access your campus files...
Any files that you had stored on your network storage i:drive on campus are now available to you online.
These files have all been moved to OneDrive which can be accessed via:
LSBU email accounts
When you open OneDrive, your files will be in a folder with a name starting with ZZZ:
Files > OneDrive > ZZZ folder
GlobalProtect enables students to access applications on AppsAnywhere.
The service can be accessed by connecting to remote.lsbu.ac.uk and using your LSBU username and password.
You may also find that some library e-resources are accessible when you are connected to the GlobalProtect VPN. Some students though, have reported issues with connecting to Moodle while using GlobalProtect, so remember to disconnect from the VPN if you can't login to Moodle.
